Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) technology is becoming a widely applied NDT method, allowing operators to have greater control over testing parameters, enhancing defect detection, using real-time results, while increasing the speed of testing procedures.  

In comparison to conventional methods – which use transducers with a single active element (crystal) -, this one uses a transducer with multiple interconnected crystals on the same circuit, allowing the detection of flaws. Weld inspection, crack detection, discontinuities, remaining thickness and wall corrosion are key application areas for this testing method.
